BANFF NATIONAL PARK CASCADE PONDS

Partnering with Newbury Hydraulics, we provided a range of engineering services for the client to rebuild the popular Cascade Ponds following the devastating 2012 and 2013 flood events. The ponds were filled with bedload during these events and the concrete dam and spillway structure were wiped out. A large spillway riffle was constructed to replace the original concrete spillway.
TASKS INCLUDED:
- Surveying, HECRAS modelling, design drawings, meetings and presentations with approving agencies
- Construction layout surveys and on-site construction direction
- Final riffle modifications during flowing conditions
